Space Spy: Libertad - target publication Jan 7!

August 7th, 2026

With an excited sense of déjà vu, I’ve decided to indie-publish Space Spy: Libertad, my YA sci-fi space thriller, with a target publication date of January 7! 😊👍🚀🪐

The ARC cycle will officially launch in the fall. I strongly believe in the teen space sci-fi genre and know it has huge crossover appeal for my technothriller readers.

I spent six months querying the manuscript and came away with valuable insights from agent feedback. The highlights frequently praised the story's strong writing and cinematic feel. However, a couple of notes mentioned that this market segment can be "tricky" or a "hard sell." I really appreciated the time agents spent reviewing full manuscripts and providing personalized feedback that gave me helpful clues along the way.

There’s often a perception that finding the right audience for teen boy-targeted YA is tough. But over and over, I hear from parents looking for fast-paced, high-stakes stories their teen sons actually want to read. And after chatting with both teen boys and parents in bookstores, it seems boys often jump straight to adult classics and thrillers, while parents struggle to curate options because the standard YA section lacks the right mix of sci-fi action.

That’s where the déjà vu comes in. This feels very similar to my debut journey. Even without an agent back then, I secured a deal and went on to sell thousands of books. Space Spy: Libertad is an even more compelling story, and one only I can write. Can I pull off another hit? Who knows, but the journey so far has been incredibly rewarding and fun!

A huge thank you to everyone who offered encouragement, advice, and energy during queries and pitches. That support was invaluable in refining the project. Now, I can’t wait to get this book into readers’ hands!
