I grew up in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and ended up in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I’m still trying to figure out if that means there’s a ‘rising from the ashes’ theme to my life. I currently live in the “town” of Gilbert, in the East Valley, which is really the size of a small city.
I had the honor of attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and serving as a Military Intelligence officer in the U.S. Army through the rank of Captain. The tactical and strategic experience I gained while part of the intelligence community changed the way I think, and it’s left a signature stamp on my writing ever since.
When I re-entered the civilian world, I attended Arizona State University’s MBA program. Imagine my shock when being late for class or dressing in flip-flops wasn’t immediately addressed with swift, draconian punishment. Despite my resistance, I slowly adapted to this casual desert lifestyle and entered the business world having “converted” my deep skills of knowing the enemy.
Today, I work in high-tech and write whenever I have the chance. I also love trail running in the mountains to help “relax” and think of more diabolical story ideas.
