A New Year and a New Mission: 2026 Update

January 7th, 2026

Happy New Year, everyone!

I wanted to share a quick update on what’s been happening behind the scenes. While I haven’t been as active on the blog lately as I’d like, I have definitely been keeping the keyboard warm.

The Big News: I spent the bulk of 2025 finishing and polishing the manuscript for SPACE SPY: LIBERTAD, a young adult sci-fi thriller. My goal was to create a high-concept story with the foundation for a long-running series, and this is it!

For those familiar with Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider series about a teen recruited by MI6, think of this as "Alex Rider in space." However, while Alex often operates as a loner, Space Spy focuses more on the dynamic teamwork of a small group of characters. Libertad is the name of the team they form to fight for their freedom. This core group will then serve as the foundation for future books.

What’s Next? Does this mean you’ll be reading SPACE SPY soon? Unfortunately, no. I am aiming for traditional publishing for this project, which means finding the right literary agent. My debut, Measure of Danger, was a rare case of securing a deal without an agent, so I’m looking forward to searching for a long-term partner to help bring my future stories to the world. The querying process is a marathon, but I’m ready for the challenge in 2026.

In the Works: While SPACE SPY is in the "pitching" phase, I’ve already dived into a new project: a science fiction horror novel that I’m incredibly excited about. It’s a “reimagined folklore” story, and my adaptation from supernatural to science fiction should be right down the lane of what my technothriller readers have enjoyed.

I hope 2026 is a fantastic year for you, both in life and in your reading adventures! If you have any ideas or cool stories you are reading, please let me know in the comments.
